Safe Water
For most of us, it’s as easy as opening a faucet or sticking a glass in the fridge door. We don’t have to think twice about it. But for millions of people around the world, safe drinking water is only a dream. In Peru alone, 50% of people don’t have access to safe drinking water, with the biggest need in the rural jungle and mountain regions.
As we work closely with local communities and leaders, we’re able to identify those areas with the biggest needs, as well as those with the ability to take on the responsibility of providing safe drinking water to their community - often as a small business. We’re passionate about empowering communities to find the safe water system that works best for their specific needs, as well as enabling them to be self-sufficient with a proven business model.
We’ve seen great success in Peru by installing simple, chemical-free, locally-sourced filtration systems and have partnered with Living Waters for The World, through whom all our water teams have been trained.
Along with providing safe drinking water, we teach the community how to use clean water… and we teach them how to teach others. This may seem unnecessarily elementary, but for those who have lived their whole lives without safe water, or for those who have an extremely limited amount of safe water each day, learning how to use it is vital.
With 80% of worldwide illnesses being waterborne, and a child dying every 2 minutes from a waterborne illness, we’re committed to making a difference. Won’t you help us?
