Pucallpa, Peru :: October 25 – November 2, 2025

Trip Details

We’re so excited for the upcoming trip and we can’t wait to see not only how God will use you, but also what God has in store for your own growth as a result of this trip. (Spoiler alert: You’ll probably come home a changed person… in a good way!)

Here at The Liquid Legacy, we strongly believe that sustainable and continuous growth is most effective when led by people in the community. Therefore, we work alongside local individuals, churches, and groups who are committed to making a lasting difference, helping them learn necessary skills, and providing resources and financial assistance as needed.

The Shea Team was founded in 1984 by the late Dr. Coyle Shea of Memphis. Since then, the team has remained dedicated to serving the people of Peru through ear, nose, and throat surgeries. Whether you have been a longtime member of the Shea Team or are joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you as part of this mission!

Basic Info

The bottom line: We’re there to be agents of change in Abaco. We’re there to share resources, to serve the underprivileged, and to love our global neighbors as ourselves.

We are excited to come alongside this long standing team as they work alongside a Peruvian medical team to perform various ENT surgeries at the local hospital in Pucallpa, Peru.

On both ends of our trip, we’ll go through Lima. From Lima, we’ll fly over the Andes Mountains on a short flight into the jungle city of Pucallpa, located on the banks of the Ucayali River (the main headwater of the Amazon River). We’ll be staying at Casa Shea in the heart of Pucallpa, Peru. The facility was built to house short-term teams, providing a comfortable place to stay with modern amenities, including hot water, flushing toilets, and air conditioning.

The days will probably feel pretty intense… but it’s worth it when you experience the big smiles and suffocating hugs of gratitude as a result of spending time with, and caring for, all the folks we’ll meet along the way.

Documents

We will do all we can to keep your cost as low as possible. To assist in this, we ask that you submit all the required documentation by July 3, 2025. Having all this in place will allow us to purchase plane tickets well in advance and take advantage of lower ticket prices.

You will need the following to complete this form:

  1. Health insurance details

  2. A copy of your passport

  3. A copy of any medical licenses you hold

  4. A copy of your medical degree

  5. Updated resume (CV)

As soon as everyone on the team has submitted the necessary forms, we'll be able to start the search for the best possible flights to Peru. Again, the sooner we have everyone's documents, the sooner we can start the search, and the better chance of a good deal on airfares!

Fundraising

The majority of folks who serve with us on a team utilize our fundraising tools to help raise funds for their trip. Not only does this help with the financial cost of going on a trip, but it’s also a great way to build your own team of supporters who will be praying for you and those you serve. In addition, it allows those who are unable to go themselves to be part of the mission and the work God will be doing in and through you.
